SHOP: Some big news from Shine Collective

Yesterday we announced to the world that on June 30, 2010 we will be closing our brick and mortar retail shop and merging with Drury Bynum Films to create Shine Films. We are ready to move in a different direction in the fashion industry with the business of creating fashion films, motion look books, branding videos and short designer docs.

Our online store will remain intact and we’ll be adding select pieces to enhance the experience of the blog and our headquarters will still be in The Foundry in Clipper Mill.

Next week we will launch a newly redesigned, better-faster-stronger version of the blog, so stay tuned… In the meantime- shop to your heart’s content. What you see on the shop site is going fast- it’s all on sale– including this beauty by Gemma Redux.

Fresh Ink in Lucky

Literally! Hot off the presses, Shine is credited in the March ’09 Lucky Magazine for the cutest jacket coming from Ontario based line Fresh Ink. This sweet denim piece will be a staple in the spring wardrobe- a cool new take on the jean jacket-meets-blazer.

4 Blocks of Fashion

We’ve recently joined forces with our neighbors to promote the fashion end of shopping on the Avenue in Hampden. The “4 Blocks of Fashion‘ campaign with Shine, doubledutch boutique, Form and Ma Petite Shoe begins Wednesday in City Paper, and you’ll see more of our joint efforts on gorgeous postcards around the city and in future promotions. Folks need to know- the goods we’re bringing to our little Baltimore hood are the same goodies found at Barney’s, Jeffrey, Scoop, Fred Segal and the rest. So, shop local!

This fun, Swedish line’s follow up to the fabulous collection featured at Shine Collective this past Fall will not disappoint. Just featured in Allure magazine, this blue skirt is hot for the season. Well made and gorgeous, House of Dagmar‘s mix is filled with the just-right, sophisticated/edgy (and necessary) additions to your Spring wardrobe.

Shine Collective awarded “Best Accessories”

Baltimore Magazine‘s annual Best of Baltimore issue just dropped and Shine not only received a handsome write up and award for our accessories, but a full page photo of some pieces- including Pretty Young Thing, Sid Vintage and Draugsvold perched on Fringe trays and dishes. The write up reads:

“Has your accessory shopping gotten a little routine? Then head to Shine Collective, 1007A W.36th Street, 410-366-6100, where the accessories are as vibrant and eclectic as the shoppers. We love that the bags, belts, and bangles that adorn the walls of this Hampden boutique are so effortlessly chic. Gutter Magazine that is! Photographer and all around good guy Joe Giordano approached us with this idea of wanting to do 80′s style studio portraits using Shine clothes and jewelry. We love the result- “Say Cheese” is fun, the photos are amazing and who doesn’t love a little glitter and braided headbands?
